Sindelfingen / Stuttgart: New CD by Branko Arnsek and Tokame
Theme song is a hymn to Cuba
The musicians of the Cuban lineup Tokame together is not easy, after the orchestra counts twelve musicians who over Germany and Switzerland are scattered at home. The threads holding together who grew up in Sindelfingen Jazz bassist Branko Arnsek. From him comes the compositions of the now commercially available new CD "Eres la tierra mas linda".
Tokame is a Cuban "All Star Band" and served with their musical concept the Cuban audience as salsa dancers or lovers of jazz, Latin jazz and world music.
Five years ago, a part of the emigrated professional musicians had for the album "Con la clave", published under the name of Arnseks ex-wife Yaqueline Castellanos and her daughter Olvido Ruiz, come together.
Around two years in the making now need the second studio recording of Tokame. Many of the pieces were written by repeated back and forth of ideas of composition, which developed from a set of rhythm Arnsek skeleton ever further. "We have tried many things and simply watched what ultimately fits best" Arnsek says about the process. Compared with the previous album, the new album is certainly become a lot more danceable.
Busy is Tokame (in German: Touch me) with two trumpets, saxophone and trombone, a rhythm section with congas, drums, timbales, piano and bass as well as a three-headed singer Front. It consists of Michel Valdes Martinez and the singers Mayelis Guyat and Aquilla Fearon. The latter comes from England and has Jamaican roots. Arnsek wrote specially for her salsa title in English. The Spanish texts are written by the Cuban Maria Luz Laffita.
The almost nine-minute title track "Eres la tierra mas linda" - which translates as "You're the most beautiful country" is and of course Cuba says - is a purebred Cuban Salsa in the style of Los Van Van, the famous Cuban orchestra. Martinez sings Chagui "En la casa de Vicente", who is also the secret favorite of the orchestra.
Among the eleven compositions of the one-hour album there are also instrumental tracks to individual musicians as trombonist Ardiles Ruiz, who has solo already immortalized on CDs of Orquesta Revé, or trumpeter Yuliski Gonzales, who in bands like Havana D'Primera, and the " was heard Nuevos Classico de Son "Nene highlight. Dalia Prada turn know friends of Cuban music as a pianist and bandleader of the female band "Son Damas".
Bringing the twelve member band on stage together, the white Branko Arnsek, is not easy. Until appearances in Freiburg, Hannover and Leverkusen are planned for the summer. But you can now, thanks to the CD release also make his own Cuban party yes. As sales Arnsek has won the Swiss label H'Art which brings his last year with the Guttenberger Brothers recorded Gypsy jazz CD "#ONE" in the trade.
The CD of Tokame "Eres la tierra mas linda" is available via the 59music Music Publishers (www.59music.com) Branko Arnsek or commercially distributed by H'Art.
